“Desiring Space”

Richard D Baron Gallery, 2021

Reported as the "first crime in space” in 2019, Astronaut Anne McClain allegedly accessed her estranged wife's bank account without permission...from the International Space Station. That allegation inspired this series of prints, and objects. Using the fantasy of space, I work to acknowledge our presently broken hearts and how, unexamined, they dictate all future building. Ultimately, this work explores what McClain’s “lesbian space crime” reveals about our search for and sabotaging of Utopia.
