Jules, owner of The Art Supply Depo, and I have developed a symbiotic relationship over the past 4 months. I work the register a few days for the store for her, and then I get to do whatever I want. Past interests have included ceiling installations, and furniture building. Most Recently, I taught a screen printing class in their "education center". I had six (sometimes 7) students three nights this week for three hours a class.
I had no idea what was going to happen. It felt like we had so much to cover, and zero time. But, they totally nailed it. I am so impressed with how well they did, and even thought it wasn't an image making class everyone left with something pretty fly.
Yesterday was the first weekend of Artomatic 419. Unsure what to expect, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people coming through to see the work, performances, and live music.
The show is open the next two saturdays, and you should probs check it out.
This winter/spring I spent a stressful few months prepping and applying to various graduate programs around the nation. After an overwhelmingly positive response and some tough decision making, I am excited to announce my intention to attend Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. I will be studying in the Print Media Department with a dozen phenomenal artists.
I owe a huge amount of thanks to some of you reading this; your support has been insane! If you are reading this and don't think you're one of those people, guess again...it takes the whole dang village, y'all! So, Thank you, too.
With a new website and new direction, I am off and running. Check back to see more work as I prepare to return to school, and continue to pursue my bliss.
